The Château Bellevue vineyard covers 15 hectares. All the grapes turned into wine in the wine cellar are from the Château’s vineyard plots, each of which enjoys an exceptional hillside site. Gamay Noir, the region’s only red-wine grape variety, mirrors this mosaic of terroirs: its aromatic expressions vary across the Cru Morgon’s different climats. The management of the Château’s vineyards is based above all on respect for the ecological balance of the soils, which are cultivated following an integrated viticulture approach.
Morgon MapTo preserve the identity and ensure the character of each terroir, Tristan Larsen makes the wine according to the different climats, which reveals the aromatic diversity of the Gamay Noir. The vat room, which combines tradition and modernity, is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, allowing great precision in the wine-making process. Grape-picking is done by hand and the grapes are sorted in two stages, first in the vineyard, with a meticulous selection of grapes, then again in the cellar, where the grapes pass on a vibrating sorting table.
More about Tristan LarsenTristan was born in Paris in December 1977. After graduating in management and business, he made a career change at the age of 33. Convinced that wine-making is the best job in the world, he studied viticulture and oenology in Beaune. With the continuing desire to understand different ways of making wine, he added to his experience by spending time at the vineyards and wine cellars of various wineries in Burgundy and New Zealand.
